Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Have a question about our chocolate? We’ve gathered the questions we hear most often — about quality, storage, shipping and allergens. If you can’t find your answer, write to us via our contact form.

Do you ship chocolate in summer? Won’t it melt in transit?

Yes, we ship all year round. During hot spells we pack orders with extra care and dispatch them so transit time is as short as possible. Chocolate callets travel better than coated products — even if the discs soften slightly or stick together in the heat, the product loses none of its properties: just leave it for a few hours in a cool, dry place and it will firm up again. Any white film (so-called fat bloom) is natural, completely harmless and disappears once the chocolate is melted. If you have any doubts about the condition of your parcel, get in touch with us.

How should I store chocolate callets?

The optimal conditions are 15–25°C, humidity below 60%, a dry spot away from light and from strongly scented products (coffee, spices, cleaning agents), because cocoa butter absorbs foreign aromas. Keep the pack tightly closed. We don’t recommend storing it in the fridge — moisture and condensation can cause bloom and change the texture. You’ll find a detailed guide with a conditions table in our article “How to store chocolate callets”.

What’s the shelf life and where can I check it?

The best-before date and batch number are printed on the packaging of every product. Stored in the recommended conditions (15–25°C, dry, sealed), the chocolate keeps its full flavour and technological properties throughout its shelf life. Products with a higher cocoa content (Dark 72%, Semisweet 54%) are naturally longer-lasting. Once opened, use the product within a reasonable time and keep it well sealed.

What are the allergens and ingredients? Do the products contain palm oil?

Our chocolates are made on a cocoa-butter base and do NOT contain palm oil. Milk Chocolate 32% contains milk. All products may be made on lines where milk, soya and nuts are present, so they may contain traces of these — you’ll find full information on ingredients, allergens (highlighted as required by law) and nutrition on the packaging and on each product page. In case of serious allergies, please contact us before purchasing.

Is the “white” item white chocolate?

No — and we deliberately stress the difference. Our product is a “White-chocolate-flavour coating — discs”, i.e. a confectioner’s coating. Its recipe contains hardened vegetable fat, so in legal terms it is NOT chocolate. It works beautifully as a coating, for dipping, decoration, fountains and fondue, where smooth coverage and a sweet, milky taste matter most. If a recipe strictly requires real white chocolate, choose a different product — we play with our cards on the table.

How do the types differ: Milk, Semisweet, Dark and the white coating?

Milk 32% has a mild, creamy and sweet profile — ideal for fountains, hot chocolate and desserts for children. Semisweet 54% is the golden mean: a pronounced cocoa taste with a smooth finish, versatile for ganache, glazes and baking. Dark 72% offers intense depth and less sugar — the choice for pralines, bold desserts and characterful bars. The white-chocolate-flavour coating (discs) is a sweet confectioner’s coating for dipping, decoration and fountains. In the “Choosing chocolate” category of our Academy we help you pick the right line for each use.

What delivery and payment methods are available?

We ship by courier within Poland and across Europe. Available payment methods include fast online payments and bank transfer (for B2B orders). After placing your order you’ll receive a confirmation and shipping-status updates. Delivery cost and time depend on the order weight and the destination country — you’ll see the details at checkout.

Do you issue VAT invoices and serve B2B customers?

Yes. Adikam Sp. z o.o. issues a VAT invoice for every order — simply provide your company details (including the VAT number) during checkout or contact us. We serve pastry shops, restaurants, hotels and wholesale buyers; for larger, regular orders please get in touch to discuss terms of cooperation and an individual quote.

Can I return a food product?

Chocolate is a food product, so — in line with the law — the right of withdrawal does not cover items that, once delivered, have been opened and for reasons of health protection or hygiene cannot be returned. Unopened, undamaged packs in their original condition can be accepted under the terms described in our terms of service. If a product arrives damaged or faulty, contact us immediately — we will handle the complaint and offer a replacement or refund.

Why choose chocolate callets over blocks?

Callets (discs) are a uniform, small size, so they melt faster and more evenly — no chopping blocks, no scorching, no lumps. They’re easy to measure, dose and temper, which speeds up the work and gives a repeatable result. It’s a form made for fountains, glazes, ganache, fondue and baking, both in a professional pâtisserie and in a home kitchen.
